Film Mentors: Artist Development - Matt Bolish

Coordinator, Convergence - Film Society of Lincoln Center
As the special projects coordinator at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Matt Bolish has oversight of the organization’s immersive media program Convergence. In that role, he has built partnerships and collaborations with a diverse field of non-profit organizations, indie creators, and for-profit enterprises. Dedicated to elevating the discussion of immersive storytelling as an art form and using the associated tools to educate and entertain, Bolish is the co-curator of a two-day side-bar of the prestigious New York Film Festival that focused exclusively on transmedia storytellers.

Before joining the Film Society Bolish served as a film festival programming and operations consultant for FestWorks Consulting from 2009 to 2011. While at Festworks he established the Anaheim New Media Expo featuring 30 independent new media projects from web series to interactive films and non-traditional documentaries. He also served as a programmer for the Feel Good Film Festival, the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, and assisted in curating panel programming for the Dallas International Film Festival. Prior to Festworks, Bolish cut his teeth as the programming coordinator at the American Film Institute’s AFI Fest for the 2009 season. Before entering the world of film festivals, Bolish worked for several studious and production companies including New Line Cinema.
