For the past three years, Shyama Friedenson, has been Paris based as the head of International Marketing for Studiocanal. She has been responsible for overseeing the marketing and distribution of Studiocanal’s international productions and acquisitions and works directly with the heads of marketing at STUDIOCANAL UK, France, Germany and Australia to develop global strategies. Friedenson has over fifteen years of collective marketing and entertainment marketing experience and a proven track record of success on a diverse slate of more than 250 feature films, that have garnered 38 Academy Award® nominations with 9 wins, 36 Golden Globe nominations with 7 wins and 51 BAFTA nominations with 9 wins. Friedenson specializes in creative conceptualization of campaigns and strategic marketing with experience in festival launches that include Cannes, Venice, Toronto, San Sebastian, Berlin, and Sundance. Prior to Studiocanal, Friedenson was SVP,International Marketing for Paramount Vantage and prior to that, held the position at Lionsgate. Recognized for having exceptional filmmaker relationships, a global distributor network and an established track record for success, her titles include Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, the Coen Brothers Inside Llweyn Davis, The Tourist, Two Faces of January, Paddington, Robocop, Place Beyond the Pines, Hotel Rwanda, Monster's Ball, Amores Perros, the Saw Franchise, Revolutionary Road, No Country for Old Men and Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island.
